Story Decorating Group is celebrating after lifting another award at the annual Painting and Decorating Association Premier Trophy Awards, held last week in London.
Our work on the newly-completed Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary for Laing O'Rourke was awarded a Very Highly Commended in the New Build category.
After their site visit, the PDA judges commented: "This was a complex and difficult project to organise as work had to start while building was still taking place. Working with other trades was an absolute necessity to deliver the final project to the quality desired. Story Decorating Group has achieved a very good finish on this project with blemish-free wall finishes and excellent cutting in. The very good working relationship between the client and the contractor met and surpassed expectations. The client was happy with the end result and work achieved was to a high standard."
We have been shortlisted every year since 2015 and this year’s success came from one of the largest projects we've taken part in.
Work onsite was Managed by Adam Lee, who said "I'm really proud of our work on DGRI. It was my first large project so it was a steep learning curve but it was worth it to see the final result take shape which is a fantastic facility serving the local community of Dumfries & Galloway".
The award came as our order book for 2018 continues to grow, with work already started at another LOR project, Manchester Airport, as well as continuing ongoing contracts in Cumbria, Manchester and central Scotland.
