The Carlisle based company has been shortlisted every year since 2015 and this year’s success came from large projects within the hotel and leisure sector.
The work on the new Premier Inn, part of the Feethams redevelopment in central Darlington, was Very Highly Commended in the Commercial category; while in the Decorative category, a rebranding & refurbishment project at the historic 211-bedroom Carlton Hotel in Edinburgh was Highly Commended.
The conversion of the Carlton Hotel to a Hilton was particularly challenging as the hotel remained open throughout the project, which included the busy Edinburgh Fringe Festival season.
Owner and Managing Director Robert Story was once again delighted with the firm’s success and hoped these results, together with a larger than anticipated orderbook, would go a long way towards helping the company increase its workforce to more than 70 employees. ‘To be recognised in 2 categories at a major awards ceremony is outstanding, particularly as it now our third year at the awards, and is a credit to all of our team here at Story Decorating Group. Customers are constantly looking for quality and value and these awards seem to help to reassure them of our commitment to contracts’.
In recent weeks, Story Decorating Group has secured many new contracts all over the UK including the new CNC Building for Sellafield, Merseyside Police Operational Command Centre in Speke, in addition to Asda, Morrisons and Sports Direct contracts nationwide.
