A local decorating firm has triumphed in a national competition showcasing the highest standards of excellence across the painting and decorating industry. Carlisle-based Story Decorating Group was praised for its quality work at Sellafield’s new Albion Square office development in Whitehaven.
The company was Very Highly commended for its decoration of the new-build offices, which included some intricate wallpaper designs depicting iconic Cumbrian scenery.
The Painting & Decorating Association’s Premier Trophy awards celebrate and reward the high levels of craftsmanship across the industry – and the skilled works carried out at Albion Square was exactly what judges were searching for.
While the digitally printed vinyl wallpaper impressed, the quality of painting works, which made up around 75 per cent of the project, was also commended by the judging panel. They stated that the ‘project was very well presented’ and the client Sellafield ‘expressed complete satisfaction with the works’.
Rob Story, Story Decorating Group managing director, said: “This award is fantastic recognition for the high-quality decorating services that our skilled team of dedicated technicians carried out at Albion Square. It was a project that demanded excellence, expertise and attention to detail – and our team delivered in abundance.
“It’s also encouraging that our Cumbrian company undertaking a key project in West Cumbria was selected in this prestigious national awards. I hope we’ve helped highlight both our services and the key developments which are taking place locally.”
Story Decorating is currently undertaking a diverse range of projects nationally – from London to Edinburgh – and has openings for skilled painting technicians across the north-west.
