Project Summary

Story Refurbishment was appointed to carry out the renovation program of 50 Bedrooms. The works included, initial pre-contract period to scope out requirement on behalf of the client, agree a main contract program that could be achieved to get all areas back online as soon as possible, this included phasing the works so the Hotel could remain in operation with minimal disruption to the guests. Works consisted of soft strip including Carpets, Curtains, Blinds, TVs, bedroom furniture, beds and strip of all rooms & circulation areas, reception & bar areas.

We also carried out a floor sanding & re-sealing program to reception & bar. The strip out & replacement of electrical fittings including isolation boards, plaster patching & new skim to certain areas, new Pipe boxings & new doors fitted brought many challenges, finishing with wallpaper stripping and rehanging, paint all areas & wallpaper to further agreed areas.

All furniture was taken to Story’s Offsite Spray facility where it was sanded down, primed, and resprayed & new handles fitted before being delivered back to completed rooms.

We were responsible for the removal of redundant items and their disposal and then a full clean was carried out on completion.

Story was ultimately responsible for the management of the fitting of new floor finishes by the client’s nominated contractor and the fitting of bespoke headboards & blinds to all bedrooms which were supplied by our client.

The project had a very demanding program which we developed along with the client, we managed to complete in just under the agreed timescale leaving a very happy client and guests ready to check in to this beautifully refurbished hotel.
