The challenge was to prepare and repaint the floor in a rolling plan through each of six bays, so that only one was out of use at any time. Barriers were used to separate the redecoration area from the vehicle service area.
We used a grinder to prepare the surface then applied concrete sealant with a roller. Next stage was to apply 2-pack epoxy paint containing aggregate for increased traction. After the grey base layer was applied, a red walkway was added with yellow boundary markings.
The service pits were refreshed with white emulsion to maximise available light when working beneath vehicles.
The result was that a busy HVG Service Centre which had become dark and where the floor had lost its safety markings, is now much improved and a brighter and safer working environment.
